Iowa's Unemployment Rate Remains at 2.5 Percent

Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 2.5 percent in September. The state’s jobless rate was 3.0 percent one year ago. The U.S. unemployment rate declined to 3.7 percent in September.

The 2018 Iowa’s Workforce and the Economy is now available. The annual publication provides an overview of Iowa’s economy, trends and local economic initiatives. This year we have included articles on: manufacturing, student retention, industry projections, and laborshed analysis along with the usual summaries on local area unemployment statistics and current employment statistics.

The 2018 Iowa Wage Survey and the 2017 Occupational Employment Statistics Wages have been released.

The 2018 Iowa Wage Survey and the 2017 Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) Wages have been released. The Iowa Wage Survey data uses OES occupational wages and updates them to make wages more current for the State, MSA and balance of state areas. This update applies only to wage data and not to employment estimates. Occupational wage and employment information is also provided for the Iowa Workforce Development Regions.
